This show was an absolute disaster from the jump — the kind you have nightmares about. The mic in this small church cut out completely halfway through my first verse and the crowd looked like the show was over. In the moment, it felt like everything had crashed down. But… instead of folding, instead of stopping, I kept going. As the song continued to play, I dropped the mic and, in this small church, sang at the top of my lungs, and finished the song without a mic. Awkward into Awesome!

Sometimes you have to eat the awkwardness and own the moment — and honestly, pushing through that trainwreck gave me more confidence than a perfect set ever could. It reminded me that resilience is part of the performance. Ever had a performance, whether at home or work, totally go off the rails? I’d love to hear your worst (or funniest) fail story. Misery loves company. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Also, I want to apologize for not posting a “Day” for the last week. Life comes at your fast some days… (a whole week, in my book.) We’re back, and I will continue to bring a daily email. -Zach Lee
