Rafiki

"It is time." -Rafiki

In the movie The Lion King, Simba comes back home and fights his uncle Scar for the position of king of Pride Rock.

The battles comes, the fight happens, the fire is ablaze! Simba’s home is destroyed as he fights for his home. He wins. The rains come, the fire is put out. He is ready to take the place as king of Pride Rock. He looks at Rafiki and he says, “It is time.” He motions Simba to the top of Pride Rock to take his place… as king. Pride Rock and the Pride Lands are saved.

Lately, I get the sense from God, to answer his nod and he points to the top of Pride Rock saying, “It is time.”

While I am not the king. I am ready to answer the call of Christ and do as he says. It is time to move forward and to lean into the call he has for me.

The first of this is this newsletter. This newsletter, that was supposed to be published each week, has not been published each week. It’s been whenever I have got around to publishing it. Well, look for a new edition every week.

Again, “it is time.”

Little Joys in Life

My Keurig broke. Sad. I bought a better machine. Nespresso. Happy! It’s the little joys in life.

What Did I Read?

I recently read (listened to) a book titled “Blessed Are the Misfits” by Brant Hansen. It was oddly satisfying. Hansen spoke about the misfits in the church culture, the ones who aren’t emotional, the introverts, and how we/they fit into the church culture. Just because some aren’t emotional or raising hands all the time, doesn’t mean they are less spiritual. Not only that, there are many places for those like us/them to serve well. It’s not just the leftovers, but it’s a beautiful place to belong, also! God’s kingdom is for all who receive!

Kids and Toys (and Blood)

I serve in the nursery at my church. I love it! The kids are fun and always energized! Although, one Sunday recently, one of the kids had a basket on his head. So asked him to remove the basket so no one would get hurt.

HOWEVER…

As he removed the basket from his head, the basket hit MY head and boom gash!

Only gauze worked to stop the bleeding. It was a pretty incredible gash. I’ll give my blood for this nursery.

How Can You Pray for Me?

Will you pray for me? A few things to pray for are:

1) That I serve God and that I am in step with the Spirit in all I say and do!

2) That I am the best husband and father for my wife and kids.

3) That in the hard work, I am able to understand music, the apps, and the principals and practices within the streams of entertainment. (Software, online, and my to-do list.)

4) That I do not miss God in the every day, day-to-day.

Thank you for praying for me!
